A little more background on the amazing BB:

Ben Brown is an internationally renowned educator in the hairdressing industry, having taught in so many countries and influenced thousands of stylists worldwide. However, his path to becoming an educator wasn’t a straightforward one. Ben began his career at just 16, working in a salon after leaving school. Though he admits he had no natural talent, (cannot wait to ask him more about this!) Ben was driven to improve, putting in the hours of practice required to master his craft.

At 34, as a salon owner responsible for training his own team, Ben had a breakthrough realisation. He recognised that while he excelled in the service side of hairdressing, he struggled to explain the technical aspects of cutting hair. Determined to bridge this gap, Ben committed himself to learning the skill of haircutting in a structured, disciplined way.

Ben’s journey to mastery is marked by his “100 Days” story. With the demands of running a salon, he turned to books and online education to retrain himself. He chose to focus on one iconic haircut: the graduated bob.

For 100 consecutive days, he dedicated himself to perfecting this cut, adopting a minimalist approach to understand every detail of its mechanics. Ben filmed each attempt, watched them back, and created daily goals to improve his technique systematically.

Through this disciplined practice, Ben transformed his approach to haircutting, gaining a deep understanding of theory and technique that he now passes on to his students. His perspective as a learner-turned-educator enables him to connect with salons and teams in a way that feels both approachable and practical.

Ben’s teaching is rooted in theory, aiming to remove guesswork from haircutting.

By breaking down each section, he gives learners control over their craft, building technique on a foundation of solid understanding. His goal is simple: to empower stylists with the skills and knowledge to cut hair with confidence and precision. Ben’s pragmatic, theory-based approach is designed to help stylists not just follow trends but understand the principles that make every cut work.
