Yvette and Verna “having a blast”
Beards4Breasts is a drive put on by UCT’s Golden Key society to raise awareness around breast cancer, and was supported this year by scar and Widow Maker in a campaign held at Jammie Plaza on 21 September.
Although most people are aware of breast cancer, few people know how to detect it in its early stages. The Beards4Breasts campaign aimed to inform, educate and create awareness amongst students surrounding breast cancer and its detection.
The Beards4Breasts day saw students colouring their hair or beards (or both!) in an attempt to raise awareness amongst their fellows. Naturally scar was there, armed with (non-permanent) flourescent pink
Tough to decide whether scar or the students had more fun, lots of pink dye was sprayed, plenty of students sported a radical new look, and all proceeds were donated to the Cancer Association of South Africa’s (CANSA) local Cape Metro Care Centre in Mowbray.
Aiming to inform, educate and create awareness.
