Reading Leandi and Salome’s answers to these questions below is all you need to realise how wonderful they are!

Of course we already know we’ve got some of the most creative, coolest and extremely talented stylists working in our salon and that’s why we’re not at all surprised that two of them, Leandi and Salome, have recently been given the opportunity of becoming Label.m Ambassadors by Label.m South Africa.

Two out of the eight stylists in the Western Cape are from scar and we couldn’t be prouder of these two for their commitment to hair (and flair) and for the ever growing excitement for their craft.

We thought it the perfect time to shine a bit of a light on these two ladies, ask them a bit more about the ambassadorship, and what it means to them.

Leandi and Salome, have recently been given the opportunity of becoming Label.m Ambassadors by Label.m South Africa.

side note:

If you knew how long it takes for a stylist to get back to an email – these Q and A’s would be even more rewarding to read. Thankfully these two are booked up most days so we know its because they were working on your heads that we waited so long…

Leandi

How did this fantastic opportunity come about?

It all started with the texturizing volume spray. Label.m gave us the opportunity to take part in a salon competition, and I came first in our group and also won the second prize in the other group. That motivated me to look more into the brand as I am always up for a new challenge.

So what does being an ambassador actually entail? What will you be doing?

I will be educating other stylists on the versatility and quality of Label.m products.

Describe Label.m briefly to those of us who don’t know what it’s all about…For me, Label.m is a trendy brand. Its dynamic product innovations showcase the latest couture and fashion trends through hair, and the brand embodies London’s Brit-cool collective of fashion and music.

How much experience do you guys have working in the hair industry so far? How long have you been a scar stylist for?

I have been in the hair industry for 11 years. I started when I was 16 and have been working at scar for three years now.

Do you have any long-term goals in the hair industry at this stage? Where to from here?

Growing as a stylist, working with big hair brands, getting my name out there and working with Label.m on shoots and London Fashion Week. I want to be part of a creative team and work to come up with new concepts. I’m getting there, and I am loving life right now. What advice do you have for aspiring stylists?

Education is key! Always push yourself, ask questions, always be keen and keep up to date with trends.

Finally, what’s the best thing about working at scar?

I love scar and the people I work with. scar is an amazing stepping stone in many ways. I’ve grown so much with scar and I will be forever thankful. I love working here because you can be yourself, and express your creativity in any weird shape or form.

Salome

Being a Label.m ambassador means to be able to grow yourself as a stylist with the help of a fashion brand for hair. Working with Tony&Guy and Label.m has always been a lifelong dream for me. I love the creative direction and look of the brand.

A Label.m incentive happened at work and I took up the challenge!

So what does being an ambassador actually entail? What will you be doing?Being a Label.m ambassador means representing the brand in a positive light and by doing so, helping to increase brand awareness and sales.

We’ll be starting at our own salon firstly, educating the staff and getting them enthusiastic about Label.m, then continuing on to other salons. Basically just being excited about a brand, using the products in my everyday salon life, sharing creative ideas, showing other stylists how to use products, and educating people about and growing the brand.

Is there a set time period which you get to be a Label.m ambassador?

As far as I know there is no set time, but there is opportunity for growth to global ambassador and artistic team member. After six months the educator will re-evaluate the local Label.m ambassadors.

Just grow our industry in any way that I can!
